KOOTMANS CELEBRATE 60 YEARS

Florence and Philip Kootman celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner at Meadowbrook Country Club and by taking all 28 of their children and grandchildren on a trip to the Riviera Maya in Mexico.

The couple were married Jan. 5, 1947, at the Desoto Hotel in St. Louis.

The Kootmans are the parents of Elaine (Larry) Iken, Karen (Bill) Bender, Michael (Debbie) Kootman and Marc (Cheryl) Kootman and the grandparents of sixteen and great-grandparents of four.

PERLSTEIN-GORDON

Sara Alissa Perlstein, daughter of Linda and Elliott Goldstein and Dr. Greg Perlstein of Overland Park, Kan., and Jason Ryan Gordon, son of Harriet and Max Gordon of Overland Park, Kan., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Nathan Perlstein and the late Estelle Perlstein of St. Louis, and the late Sylvia Feder and the late Gilbert Feder and Rhetta Goldstein of Overland Park.

He is the grandson of Marge Handleman and the late Dr. Ben Handleman of St. Louis and Sam Gordon and the late Jane Gordon of Overland Park.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Blue Valley Northwest and the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

She is currently a human resources manager at CBIZ in Leawood, Kan., and is working toward her master’s degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Her fianc é is a graduate of Shawnee Mission East and the University of Kansas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science.

He is currently a client relations group manager at DST Systems in Kansas City, and is working toward his master’s degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

A September wedding is planned.
