Shira Yona Small, daughter of Dr. Harvey and Ava Small of Clayton, and Dan Lantner, son of Louis and Karen Lantner of Hanoi, Vietnam, have announced their engagement.
She is the granddaughter of Evelyn and the late Max Weingross of Chatsworth, Calif., and Beatrice and the late Edmund Davis of Silver Strand Beach, Caif. and the late Sheldon Small of Chicago.
He is the grandson of the late Pauline and Herman Lantner of Woonsocket, R.I. and Helen and the late Joel Williams of Washington.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Clayton High School and Washington University, where she earned a B.A. degree in English. She is currently a D.C. teaching fellow, teaching English as a second language while earning a master’s degree from American University. Her fiance is a graduate of Brandeis University, where he earned a B.A. degree in computer science. He is currently a software developer with Electronic Data Systems in Washington.
A June 2006 wedding is planned.
Silberman-Fagin
Abbey Elisabeth Silberman, daughter of Dottie and Alan Silberman of Steubenville, Ohio, and Kenneth Michael Fagin, son of Doris and Stan Fagin of Creve Coeur, have announced their engagement.
She is the granddaughter of Mildred Levison and the late Edward Levison of Zanesville, Ohio, and the late Edith and Philip Silberman of Steubenville, Ohio.
He is the grandson of the late Esther and Meyer Roudman of St. Louis, and Betty Fagin and the late Joe Fagin of St. Louis.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Mount de Chantal Academy in Wheeling, W.Va., and Brown University, where she earned an AB in religious studies. She is currently senior director of development at American University in Washington, D.C.
Her fiance is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned an SB degree in aeronautics and astronautics, and Washington University School of Law, where he earned a JD degree. He is currently a patent attorney in Washington, D.C.
A June 2006 wedding is planned.
