SIEGEL-ECKER WEDDING
Sunni Lyn Siegel, daughter of M. Donald and Susan Siegel of St. Louis County, and Matthew Allen Ecker, son of Mrs. Midge Ecker of Creve Coeur and the late Paul Ecker, were married on May 17, 2008 at the Norman K. Probstein Golf Course at Forest Park.
Rabbi Howard Kaplansky officiated at the outdoor ceremony. A wedding reception followed at the same location. The bride chose her friend Erin Robinson as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Andrea Newell, Amy Maassen, Lauren Milazzo and Kristen Nyren, all friends of the bride. Penelope Chen was flower girl.
The groom chose his friend Ronnie Danner as best man. Groomsmen were Jason White, Joe Bryson, Scott Cambron and Brad Weckbeck, all friends of the groom. Ushers were Brian Wieland and Josh Stevens. Lucas Ecker, nephew of the groom served as ring bearer.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Henry and Sara Friedman of St. Louis and the late Malcolm and Shirley Siegel of Oklahoma City. The groom is the grandson of the late Mary Amann. Following their honeymoon to Barbados, the couple resides in St. Louis.
SIEBERT-SCHWEIZER ENGAGEMENT

Rebecca “Becky” Patricia Siebert, daughter of Mary and Stephen Siebert of Fenton and Adam Jonathan Schweizer, son of Laurie and Bert Schweizer III of Chesterfield have announced their engagement.
She is the granddaughter of Kathleen and the late Albert Trankle and Jeanette and Clarence Siebert, all of St. Louis. He is the grandson of Elizabeth and Bert Schweizer II of Creve Coeur, and Bubbles and the late Jerry Shumow of Milwaukee, Wisc.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Rockwood Summit High School, the University of Missouri where she received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Maryville University where she received her master’s degree in Gifted Education. She is currently a Gifted Education teacher at LaSalle Springs Middle School in the Rockwood School District. The groom is a graduate of Parkway Central High School, Syracuse University where he received his bachelor’s degree in History and Education and Maryville University where he received his master’s degree in Educational Leadership (Administration). He is currently an Assistant Principal at Rockwood Valley Middle School in the Rockwood School District. A July, 2009 wedding is planned.
THOMECZEK BAT MITZVAH
Marianna LeVa Thomeczek, daughter of Jim Thomeczek and JoAnne Levy, became a bat mitzvah on June 6, 2009, at Temple Israel. Mari participated in Temple Israel’s optional B’nai Mitzvah Enrichment Program, performing numerous mitzvot during her bat mitzvah preparation, including collecting donations for and making her own personal donation to the Humane Society. Mari’s siblings are Samantha Thomeczek of Louisville, Ky., and Jake, Jerry and Josh Thomeczek, all of St. Louis. Her grandparents are Jerry and Judith Levy, Jim and Marilyn Schlitter, and J.W. Thomeczek, all of St. Louis. Mari will be entering the eighth grade at Ladue Middle School. Outside of school, she has been a Girl Scout (Troop 593) since kindergarten, takes weekly horseback riding lessons, will be a summer camper at Cub Creek Animal and Science Camp for the sixth year in a row, and will be an Assistant Camp Counselor at Burr Oak Camp during summer 2009.
