Lisa Dianne Lipshitz, daughter of Sherry and Isaac Lipshitz of Chesterfield, and Ryan Michael Cooper, son of Gail and Gary Cooper of Odessa, Mo., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of William and the late Marlene Carl of Chesterfield, and the late Binem and the late Hannah Lipshitz of St. Louis. He is the grandson of the late Richard and the late Norma Meier of Bates City, Mo., and Ralph and the late Marion Cooper of Chillocothe, Mo.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and the University of Missouri – Columbia, where she earned a B.S. degree in elementary education. She is currently a third-grade teacher. Her fianc é is a graduate of Odessa High School and the University of Missouri – Columbia, where he earned a master’s degree in geography. He is currently a geographic information systems specialist.

A July 2006 wedding is planned.

Alper-Minkus

Laura Alper, daughter of Marc and Penny Alper of St. Louis, and Michael Minkus, son of Robert and Carol Minkus of Chicago, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Sylvia and the late Albert Alper, and the late Gertrude and the late Leon Neuman and Shirley Neuman.

He is the grandson of Muriel and the late Marvin Minkus and Sylvia and the late Albert Shtriker.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Parkway North High School and Indiana University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism, and the University of Missouri, where she earned a master’s degree in journalism. She is currently a documentary television producer. Her fiance is a graduate of Ida Crown Academy and Brandeis University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history, and the University of Missouri, where he earned a master’s degree in journalism. He is currently an Internet marketing manager.
