Walsh-Schwartz

Meg (Margaret Ann) Walsh, daughter of Thomas and Ann Walsh of Wilmette, Ill., and Brian Michael Schwartz, son of Daniel and Joanne Schwartz of St. Louis, have announced their engagement. She is the granddaughter of the late Edwin and the late Winifred McConville of Kenilworth, Ill., and the late Martin and the late MaryAnn Walsh of Chicago.

He is the grandson of Albert and Miriam Schwartz of Kansas City, and John and Anna Lee Brown of St. Louis.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of New Trier High School and Loyola University Chicago, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing with honors (magna cum laude).

She is currently a registered nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and pursuing a master’s degree in nursing at Rush University. Her fianc é is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in history and computer science. He is currently a software engineer with Trading Technologies in Chicago and is pursuing a master’s degree in accountancy from De Paul University.

A 2007 wedding is planned.

Shubkagel-Kodner

Emily Shubkagel, daughter of Judy Fisher Fellows and David Shubkagel of Kansas City, and Kenton Kodner, son of Robert and Mary Kodner of St. Louis, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Bernice and Sam Shubkagel and the late Alma and Gregory Fisher. He is the grandson of Monroe and Gloria Abrams.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Truman High School and the University of Missouri, where she earned a B.A. degree in sociology, and George Washington University, where she earned an M.A. degree in international affairs.

Her fianc é is a graduate of Parkway North High School and the University of Missouri, where he earned BFA degree in graphic design. He is currently a graphic designer in Washington, D.C.

An October 2006 wedding is planned.

Hoffman-Mentle

Jennifer Lynn Hoffman, daughter of Barbara and Robert Hoffman of St. Louis, and Robert Adam Mentle, son of Jane and Henry Mentle of Cincinnati, were married Sept. 4, 2005, at Renaissance Grand Hotel, where Rabbi Bernard Lipnick and Cantor Howard Shalowitz officiated.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Renaissance Grand Hotel.

She is the granddaughter of the late Harriet and Mark Hoffman of Chicago and the late Shirley and the late Alvin Weiss of Chicago.

He is the grandson of Edith and the late Philip Mentle of Flushing, N.Y., and Sylvia and the late Benjamin Menn of Cincinnati.

The bride chose Julie Polsky Elson, a friend, as maid of honor.

Bridal attendants were Suzanne Herman; Jennifer Present-Hoffman, sister-in-law of the bride; Erin Robinson; Jeremy Round; Heather Saltzman; and Lauren Stone. The groom chose Joshua Mentle, his brother, as best man. Groomsmen were David Hoffman, brother of the bride; Jonathan Hoffman, brother of the bride; Matthew Krass; Gary Lerhaupt; Randy Ornstein; and David Weber.

Following a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple resides in St. Louis.
