LEVIN-JAFFE

Jennifer Levin, daughter of Arnold and Andrea Levin of Wilmette, Ill., and Leland Jaffe, son of Howard and Susan Jaffe of Chesterfield, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Orville and Muriel Berkson of Wilmette, Ill., and the late Albert and Minnette Levin of Wilmette, Ill. He is the grandson of the late Albert and Ruth Jaffe of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the late Ernest and Helen Michaelson of Long Island, N.Y.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of New Trier High School and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where she earned a BS in biology, and the University of Illinois-Chicago, where she earned a masters degree in public health. She is currently a clinical research associate at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare in Evanston, Ill. Her fiance is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he earned a BS in biology, and the Rosalind Franklin University where he earned a doctorate degree in podiatric medicine. HAMMERMAN-SIEGEL

Abigail Diana Hammerman, daughter of Dr. Harley and Marlene Hammerman of St. Louis, Mo., and Daniel Eric Siegel, son of Dr. Robert and Shelli Siegel of West Hartford, Conn., were married June 7, 2008 at The Ritz Carlton where Rabbi Howard Kaplansky and Cantor Ronald Eichaker officiated. A wedding reception followed the ceremony at The Ritz. She is the granddaughter of Selene and Irv Hammerman and the late Eileen and Samuel Scheinkman. He is the grandson of Judi and Sandy Wasserman, Hortense Siegel and the late Alvin Leff and Lester Siegel. Nadene Cherry, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were sisters-in-law Amy Hammerman and Katie Hammerman, Rachel Hammerman, a cousin and Jennifer Growe, a friend. Flower girls were Jenna and Sara Madsen, cousins of the groom. Surinder Aggarwal served as best man. Groomsmen were Adam Hammerman and Zachary Hammerman, brothers of the bride, Adam Jacobowitz, friend of the groom, Adam Siegel and Gregory Siegel, brothers of the groom. JACOBS CELEBRATE 50 YEARS

Joshua and Claire Jacobs have been married 50 years. They were married on Lag B’Omer, May 8, 1958. Joshua and Claire celebrated their anniversary by a barge cruise in May on the Mississippi River from St. Louis to New Orleans, followed by a week in that city. They will celebrate their anniversary again by joining their children and grandchildren in July at a resort in northern Minneapolis.
