Deutsch-Shrensker

Jennifer Loren Deutsch, daughter of Steven and Vicki Deutsch of Ballwin, and Andrew Wade Shrensker, son of the late Warren and Judy Shrensker of Louisville, Ky., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Leonard and Marlene Petrofsky and of the late Fred and Molly Deutsch.

He is the grandson of the late Abby and the late Irene Halpert and the late Joe and the late Jean Shrensker.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Parkway West High School and the University of Missouri at Columbia, where she earned a B.S. degree in mathematics and a B.E.S. degree in curriculum and instruction. She also earned an M.A. degree from Washington University in mathematics. She is currently teaching at the University of Missouri at St. Louis. Her fianc é is a graduate of Nicolet High School in Glendale, Wis., and Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I., where he earned a B.A. degree in culinary arts. He is currently chef de cuisine at Forest Hills Country Club.

A May 2007 wedding is planned.

Goodman-Balber

Sharon Lynn Goodman, daughter of Abert and Sheila Goodman of St. Louis, and David Seth Balber, son of Michael and Judy Balber of New York, were married Nov. 6, 2005, at Crowne Plaza-Clayton, where Rabbi Ze’ev Smason officiated. A wedding reception followed the ceremony at the Crowne Plaza-Clayton. She is the granddaughter of the late Sarah and Hyman Grus and the late Bessie and Abraham Goodman. He is the grandson of the late Louis and Rose Balber and Hy and Betty Steinberg.

The bride chose Lori Vingot, her sister, as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Dara Balber, sister of the groom; Lori Seigel and Laura Trakas. The groom chose Collum Hunter as best man. Groomsmen were David Goodman, brother of the bride; Carl Goodman, brother of the bride; and Steve Hill. Usher was Jamie Ahern.

Following a wedding trip to Italy, the couple resides in Tampa, Fla.
