UMANSKY-TANNER

Alissa Umansky, daughter of Anita and Steve Dienstfrey of Burke, Va., and Barry Umansky of Muncie, Ind., and Jamie Tanner, son of Mitchell and Nancy Tanner of Tuxedo Park, N.Y., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Harry and the late Beverly Chapel of St. Louis, Mo., and the late Martin and the late Mary Umansky of Wichita, Kan. He is the grandson of the late Hal and Sylvia Tanner of Sunrise, Fla. and the late Ike and the late Phyllis Levish of Yonkers, N.Y.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Washington University, where she earned a BFA degree in graphic design. She is currently an art director for an ad agency in New York City. Her fiance is a graduate of Washington University, where he earned a BFA degree in illustration. He is currently an illustrator and cartoonist in New York. An October wedding is planned.


Langsdorf-Jacobson

Julia Anne Langsdorf, daughter of Tom and Linda Langsdorf, of St. Louis, Mo., and Daniel Nathan Jacobson, son of Ms. Caron Jacobson, of Deerfield, Ill., and Mark Jacobson of Highland Park, Ill., and stepson of Nancy Jacobson Costerman of Highland Park, Ill., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Becker and the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Langsdorf, Jr.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Harris and Mrs. Esther Jacobson and the late Mr. Jerome Jacobson. The bride-to-be is a graduate of John Burroughs High School and Colby College, where she earned a BA degree in English classics and graduated cum laude.

She earned an MSW from the University of Chicago. She is currently a social worker at Elm Place Middle School in Highland Park, Ill. Her fiance is a graduate of Highland Park High School and the University of Arizona where he earned a BS degree in psychology.

He is currently an associate as a retail specialist at CB Richard Ellis, a commercial real estate firm. A May 17, 2008 wedding is planned. (Photo: Josephine Havlak)


SEGAL-STEFFIN

Lesley Erin Segal, daughter of David and Donna Segal of Chesterfield, Mo., and Brian Donald Steffin, M.D., son of Donald and Carol Steffin of Appleton, Wis., were married Oct. 6, 2007 at the St. Louis Marriott-West in Town & Country, Mo., where Rabbis Jeffrey Stiffman and James Bennett officiated. A wedding reception followed the ceremony at the Marriott West Hotel.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Frances Lerner, and the late Erwin S. Lerner and the late Sam and Sylvian Segal of Chesterfield, Mo. He is the grandson of Amanda and Carl Steffin, Irving Boss, of Appleton, Wis., and the late Lois Boss.

The bride chose Karyn Reiber, longtime friend, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Segal, sister-in-law of the bride; Sarah Steffing, sister of the groom; Andrea Segal, cousin of the bride, and Allegra Weiner. Carlie Cohen served as flower girl.

The groom chose Brant Paulson, a friend, as best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Segal, brother of the bride; Dr. Raymond Klug, Jamie Jankowski, Linn Desaulniers, all friends of the groom. Ushers were Bradley Lerner, Justin Lerner and Elliot Segal, all cousins of the bride. The ring bearer was Anthony Tado.
