SHENKER-GOTTLIEB

Rachel Michelle Shenker, daughter of Mitchell and Janice Shenker of Chesterfield, and Russell Matthew Gottlieb, son of Leon and Linda Gottlieb of Glencoe, Ill., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Marvin and Edna Heligman of St. Louis, and the late Harry and the late Bess Shenker of St. Louis.

He is the grandson of the late Abe and the late Shirley Gottlieb of New York, N.Y., and the late Sol and the late Gladys Benzion of New York, N.Y.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned a B.S. degree in psychology. She is currently a third year law student at Saint Louis University.

Her fiance is a graduate of New Trier High School and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he earned a B.S. degree in mathematics.

He also received his M.A.T. in secondary education from National Louis University. He is currently a math teacher at Marquette High School.

MELNIK-BERGER

Alison Gail Melnik, daughter of Dr. Paul and Barbara Melnik of Creve Coeur, Mo., and Brett Evan Berger, son of Doron and Barbara Berger of Creve Coeur, were married on Sept. 20, 2008 at The Coronado Ballroom where Rabbi Howard Kaplansky officiated.

A wedding reception followed the ceremony at the Coronado Ballroom. She is the granddaughter of Bill and the late Edna Melnick and Ruth and the late Mitchell Melnik. He is the grandson of Arthur and Evelyn Rudin and the late Heinrich and Suzy Berger.

The bride chose Julie Schneiderman and Michelle Stone as matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Karli Juenger, Andrea Rosenblum, Monica Serianni, Sarah Toybes and Jana Wojcik.

The groom chose Craig Berger as best man. Groomsmen were Steven Rosenblum, Scott Rosenthal, Jeremy Rubenstein, Greg Schneiderman and Marc Stone. The ring bearers were Myles, Spencer and Henry Rosenblum and Alex Schneiderman.

The couple resides in University City.
