Alissa Umansky, daughter of Anita and Steve Dienstrey of Burke, Virginia, and Barry Umansky of Muncie, Indiana, and Jamie Tanner, son of Mitchell and Nancy Tanner of Tuxedo Park, N.Y., have announced their engagement. She is the granddaughter of the late Harry and the late Beverly Chapel of St. Louis, Mo., and the late Martin and the late Mary Umansky of Wichita, Kan. He is the grandson of the late Hal and Sylvia Tanner of Sunrise, Fla. and the late Ike and the late Phyllis Levish of Yonkers, N.Y. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Washington University, where she earned a BFA degree in graphic design. She is currently an art director for an ad agency in New York City. Her fiance is a graduate of Washington University, where he earned a BFA degree in illustration. he is currently an illustrator and cartoonist in New York. An October wedding is planned.
