Lesley Ann Hoffman, daughter of Dr. Lawrence and Phyllis Hoffman of St. Louis, and Matthew Goldenberg, son of Steven Goldenberg of Ocean, N.J. and Barbra Goldenberg of Tinton Falls, N.J., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Estelle and Stanley Hoffman of St Louis, and of Roslyn and the late William Paul of Boston, Mass. He is the grandson of the late Bess and Louis Tucker of Wantagh, N.Y. and of Lillian and the late Joseph Goldenberg of Monticello, N.Y.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and a graduate of Columbia University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS), where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Bible and a master’s degree in Jewish education from the JTS Davidson School. She is currently the Education Director at Sutton Place Synagogue in midtown Manhattan.

Her fianc é is a graduate of Scotch Plains – Fanwood High School and the University of Michigan, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the Ross School of Business. He is currently a Contract Strategy Analyst at Forest Laboratories, Inc.

The couple met on JDate and currently reside in Manhattan.

An October 2010 wedding is planned.

ABRAMSON-ZAJARIAS ENGAGEMENT

Heather Abramson, daughter of Dr. Ernest and Ellen Abramson of Creve Coeur and Dr. Alan Zajarias, son of Dr. Alejandro and Miriam Zajarias of Creve Coeur, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Edwin and Cookie Epstein of Frontenac and Elaine and the late Leon Abramson of Boca Raton, Fla.

He is the grandson of Flora and the late Moises Rabchinskey and Natalia and the late Dr. Samuel Zajarias, all from Mexico City, Mexico.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Ladue Horton Watkins high school and Washington University, where she earned a master’s degree in Social Work. She is currently in pharmaceutical sales.

Her fianc é is a graduate of American School Foundation and Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, where he earned his M.D. degree. He is currently a physician at Washington University.

A September 2010 wedding is planned.

FLATHMANN-RUBIN SANDLER ENGAGEMENT

Jessica Marie Flathmann, daughter of Susan and David Pantin of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the late William Flathmann of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., and Robert Evan Rubin Sandler, son of Leah Rubin and Jeffrey Cohen of Wildwood, and Thomas Sandler and Nina Tumosa of Fairlee, Vt., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Gerald and Helen Morse of Lake Worth, Fla., and John and Dorothy Flathmann of Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

He is the grandson of the late Abraham and the late Millicent Rubin of St. Louis, and the late Benjamin and the late Lillian Sandler of Sacramento, Calif.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C., where she received a a bachelor’s of science degree in science communication, and the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland. She is an associate at the law firm of K &L Gates in Pittsburgh.

Her fianc é is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and the University of Missouri, where he received bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science. He will receive a master’s degree this spring from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.

A May 2010 wedding is planned.

SCHVEY-FLEISCHAKER ENGAGEMENT

Deborah Tamar Fleischaker, daughter of Phyllis and Marc Fleischaker of Washington, D.C., and Aram Asher Schvey, son of Patty and Henry Schvey of St. Louis, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Dita and the late Stanley Schmidt of Philadelphia, Penn., and Betty Jane and the late Leopold Fleischaker of Louisville, Ky.

He is the grandson of Edna and the late Max Cohn of St. Louis, and Rita Lerner and the late Norman Schvey of New York, N.Y.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in Bethesda, Md., Vanderbilt University, and the University of Maryland School of Law. She currently is the Director of State Legislative Affairs for the criminal justice reform organization, Families Against Mandatory Minimums.

Her fianc é is a graduate of Clayton High School, Harvard University, the Johns Hopkins University, and the Georgetown University Law Center. He currently serves as the Supervising Attorney and Teaching Fellow at the Georgetown University Law Center’s International Women’s Human Rights Clinic.

A June 2010 wedding is planned.
