Elana Rose Hoffman, daughter of Alysa and Buddy Hoffman of Deerfield, Ill. (formerly of Chesterfield) and Neil Steven Goldsmith, son of Sandra Rosen and Edward Goldsmith of Minneapolis, Minn. have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Honorable Judge Harry B. Aron and Toby Aron of Chicago and Estelle and Stanley Hoffman of Creve Coeur. He is the grandson of the late Frances and the late Murray Goldsmith of Atlanta, Ga. and Shirley and Hyman Rosen of St. Louis Park, Minn.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Deerfield High School in Deerfield, Ill. and the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. She is currently a project manager at Nestle Purina Pet Care Company in St. Louis.

Her fianc é is a graduate of Robbinsdale Armstrong High School in Plymouth, Minn. and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and Jewish studies. He is currently a law student (J.D. candidate) at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and will graduate in May, 2010.

An August, 2010 wedding is planned in Wheeling, Ill.
