Mateo-Cohen

Janice Mateo, daughter of Gigi and Jason Mateo of Overland Park, Kan., and Brian Cohen, son of Judy and Sheldon Cohen of Ladue, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Gregorio Mateo and Patrocinio Mateo of the Philippines and Caridad Francia of Overland Park, Kan. He is the grandson of Thelda and the late Barney Reiss and Evelyn and Ted Cohen.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School and attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City Medical School. She is presently in a physiatry residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Her fianc é is a graduate of Ladue Horton Watkins High School and attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City Medical School. He is in an anesthesiology residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

A June 2007 wedding is planned.

Brede-Ginsberg

Anna Brede, daughter of Lyn and Joseph Hance and Steve Brede of Petoskey, Mich., and Steve Ginsberg, son of Jane and Mark Ginsberg of St. Louis, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Peg and Alex Brede of East Lansing, Mich. He is the grandson of Evelyn and Frank Ginsberg and Edith Gad of St. Louis.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Petoskey High School and the University of Michigan, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing and joined Kappa Kappa Gamma. She is currently a labor and delivery nurse in Chicago at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Her fianc é is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and Indiana University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and joined Alpha Epsilon Pi. He is currently in advertising sales in Chicago. An August 2007 wedding is planned.

Kravitz-Roomberg

Halley Jaye Kravitz, daughter of Alan and Rickie Kravitz of St. Louis, and Michael Gary Roomberg, son of Alan and Nancy Roomberg of Lafayette Hill, Pa., have announced their engagement. She is the granddaughter of the late Harold Spitzer and Mildred Spitzer and the late Harold Kravitz and Shirley Kravitz. He is the grandson of the late Herman Goldman and late Dorothy Goldman and the late Herbert Roomberg and Margery Roomberg.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in speech and hearing sciences, and Rockhurst University in Kansas City, where she earned a masters of science degree in communication sciences and disorders. She is a speech pathologist with Kids Communication Center, Washington, D.C. Her fianc é is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, in Madison, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in international relations and policy studies. Currently, he is a first year MBA student in the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. A summer 2007 wedding is planned.
