Abigail Diana Hammerman, daughter of Dr. Harley and Marlene Hammerman of Creve Coeur and Daniel Eric Siegel, son of Dr. Robert and Shelli Siegel of West Hartford, Conn., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Selene and Irven Hammerman of Creve Coeur and the late Eileen and Samuel Scheinkman. He is the grandson of Judith and Sanford Wasserman of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and the late Alvin Leff and Hortense Siegel of Fort Lee, N.J. and the late Lester Siegel.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and attended Washington University in St. Louis and Washington University School of Law, where she received her J.D. degree. Her fiance is a graduate of Loomis Chaffee in Windsor, Conn., and attended Washington University in St. Louis, and Washington University School of Law where he received his J.D. degree.

A June 2008 wedding is planned.

BORENSTEIN-SHERMAN

Rachel Borenstein, daughter of Rosalyn and Jakob Borenstein of Brooklyn, N.Y., and David Louis Sherman, son of Janice and Gary Sherman of Chesterfield, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Isak and the late Sarah Borenstein and the late Michael and the late Sophie Kupferman of Brooklyn, N.Y. He is the grandson of Ethel Warshafsky and the late Nathan Warshafsky and Dolores Sherman and the late Morris Sherman of Creve Coeur, Mo.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Edward R. Murrow High School and State University of New York at Oneonta where she earned a B.A. degree in speech communication and William Paterson University, Wayne N.J., where she earned an M.S. degree in communication disorders. She is currently a speech and language pathologist in Chicago Public Schools.

Her fiance is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and Stanford University where he earned a B.A. degree in economics and an MA degree in organizational behavior and the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, Cal., where he earned a B.S. degree in environmental design. He is currently a creative director at Matrex Exhibits in Chicago, Ill.

A November 2007 wedding is planned.
