Sarah Gillian Toybes, daughter of Steven and Sharlene Eckert Toybes of St. Louis, and Dennis Gerard Pohlmann, son of Donald and Lucille Pohlmann of New Haven, Mo, have announced their engagement.

Sarah is the granddaughter of the late Sol and Sylvia Eckert of St. Louis, and late Martin and Betty Toybes of St. Louis.

Dennis is the grandson of the late George and Ella Pohlmann of New Haven, the late Clarence and Agnes Heppermann of Saint Paul, Mo.

The bride-to-be earned a bachelor of science degree in advertising from University of Illinois-Champaign, an Early Childhood Teaching Certificate from University of Missouri-St. Louis, as well as a master’s degree in Elementary Education from University of Missouri-St. Louis.  She is a kindergarten teacher in the Ladue School District.

The groom-to-be earned a bachelor of arts in criminal justice from Lindenwood University.  He is a detective in the Ladue Police Department.

A June 2016 wedding is planned.
