Staci Patrice Tons, daughter of Bruce and Sherri Tons of St. Louis, and Joseph Irving Gerchen, son of David and Ruth Gerchen of St. Louis, have announced their engagement. 

She is the granddaughter of the late Eugene and Phyllis Tons, and the late Louis and Harriet Kolchinsky, all of St. Louis. He is the grandson of Shirley and the late Marvin Gerchen, and Genevieve and the late Irving Rondberg, all of St. Louis. 

The bride-to-be is a 2007 graduate of Parkway North High School, and a 2011 graduate of Bradley University, where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in public relations with minors in business management and leadership studies. She is currently a fundraising coordinator at the Muscular Dystrophy Association in St. Louis. 

Her fiancé is a 2006 graduate of Parkway Central High School, and a 2010 graduate of the University of Missouri- Columbia, where he earned his bachelor of science degree in personal financial management, with a minor in business. He is currently the head of a commercial insurance division for Larson Financial Group in St. Louis. 

The couple met through the Jewish Federation of St. Louis’ Young Professional Division leadership class. 

A September, 2015 wedding is planned.
