Kara Anne Thaw, daughter of Carole and Barry Thaw of St. Louis and Daniel Joseph Greenberg, son of Robert and Susan Greenberg of Montgomery Village, Md. have announced their engagement. 

She is the granddaughter of Betty and the late Philip Thaw and the late Pauline and Joseph Glaser of St. Louis. He is the grandson of Marion and the late Stanley Lauterstein and the late Frieda and Max Greenberg of Brooklyn, N.Y. 

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Parkway West High School. She earned a bachelor of arts in public policy from the University of Chicago in 2006, and a juris doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School in 2009. She is an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel at the Defense Security Cooperation Agency in Washington, D.C. 

Her fiancé graduated from the University of Maryland-College Park in 2005 with a bachelor of arts degree in communications. He is responsible for Advocacy and Public Affairs at the American Public Health Association in Washington, D.C. 

A November, 2013 wedding is planned in Washington, D.C.
