Sussman-Berezin Engagement

Rabbi Deana Sussman, daughter of Fred and Vicki Sussman of Chesterfield, and Jared Berezin, son of Stephen and Sue Berezin of Longmeadow, Mass., have announced their engagement.
Deana is the granddaughter of Mickey and Judy Ferdman, and Carl Sussman and the late Shirley Sussman, all of St. Louis.
Jared is the grandson of Fred and Elaine Leopold, and the late Nathan and the late Mae Berezin, all of Longmeadow.
The bride-to-be is currently the Rabbi Educator at Central Reform Congregation. She was ordained in 2014 from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles, where she also earned her master’s degree in Jewish education. Before that, she attended Indiana University in Bloomington where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Jewish studies and in religious studies.
The groom-to-be is currently working at the Center for Empirical Research in the Law at Washington University as the Office Coordinator. He also works as a freelance segment producer for HEC-TV. Jared attended Temple University in Philadelphia, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in film and media arts.
The couple met at a mutual friend’s home during a Shabbat dinner in Los Angeles, Calif., where the two were living at the time.
An April 2016 wedding is planned.
