Abby Lauren Steinman of Chicago, daughter of Larry and Lynne Joy Steinman of Chesterfield, and Oz Bar-Hama of Chicago, son of Gidon and Sara Bar-Hama of Hod HaSharon, Israel, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Paul and Dorothy Steinman of St. Louis and the late Dr. Fred and Frances Goldberg of Memphis, Tenn. He is the grandson of the late Avraham and Miriam Moshe of Naharia, Israel and Ora and the late Chaim David of Noham, Israel.

The bride-to-be earned her bachelor of science degree in communications from Bradley University.

She is currently a recruiter for JUF/Jewish Federation of Chicago.

Her fiancé earned his bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Haifa and his MBA in strategy, consulting and financial analysis from Cornell University.

He is currently a strategy and business development consultant at Aon in Chicago.

An August, 2013 wedding is planned in Israel.
