Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Portman announce the engagement of their son Stuart to Rachel Soclof, daughter of Steven and Michal Soclof, of Beachwood, Ohio. 

The groom-to-be graduated from Parkway West High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology and political science at the University of Denver, and his Master of Public Health degree from The George Washington University. He is employed in the U.S. Senate as a health policy advisor. Mr. Portman is the grandson of Mrs. Shirley Portman and the late Marvin Portman and the late Herbert and the late Selma Jagust. 

The bride-to-be graduated from the Fuchs Mizrachi School in Beachwood, Ohio and received her bachelor’s degree in policy analysis and management from Cornell University. She is also employed in the U.S. Senate as a health policy legislative assistant. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy and Sidney Katz and the late Alan B. Soclof of Beachwood, Ohio, and Rina and the late Zvi Shuldiner of Pittsburgh, Penn.

A November wedding is being planned.
