SINGER-KAPLAN ENGAGEMENT

Deborah Johannah Singer, currently living in Boston, Mass., daughter of Steve Singer and Miriam Rogers Singer of Clayton, Mo., and Samuel Isaac Kaplan, (currently living in London, England), son of David Kaplan of Washington, D.C. and Julee Staley of Stuart, Fla. and stepson of Julia Marx of Washington, D.C. have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Norma and the late Morton Singer of St. Louis, Alfred and the late Ruth Rogers and Muriel Rogers of Chicago, Ill. He is the grandson of Marta and the late Alan Kaplan of Minneapolis, Minn., and Joan Staley of Stuart, Fla. and Larry Staley of Pleasant Plain, Ohio.

The bride-to-be is a candidate for her MBA from Harvard Business School. After graduating from college and before entering business school, she worked for Google in global communications both in New York City and Sydney, Australia.

Her fiancé is an associate at Linklaters, a global law firm headquartered in London. He earned his law degree from George Washington University and his BA from Haverford College.

Deborah and Sam met on their first day of orientation for their junior year abroad program at Oxford University, England. Sam proposed at the Missouri Botanical Garden.

A September, 2013 wedding is planned.
