Abby Elise Schneider, daughter of Jamie and Terry Schneider of Clayton, and Alan Charles Garelick, son of Molly and Kenneth Garelick of St. Paul, Minn., have announced their engagement. 

Abby is the granddaughter of Dorothy and Harold Schneider and the late Bernean and Howard Gold, all of St. Louis.  Alan is the grandson of the late Charlotte and Saul Garelick and the late Esther and Reuben Kaplan, all of St. Paul. 

Abby graduated from Ladue Horton Watkins High School in 2002 and earned her bachelor’s degree in social policy from Northwestern University and her law degree and master’s of business administration from Washington University.  She is an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board. 

Alan earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University, his JD from the William Mitchell College of Law, and his master’s degree in special education from the University of St. Thomas.  He is a special education teacher at Maplewood Middle School in St. Paul. 

A May 2016 wedding is planned in St. Louis.  The couple resides in Minneapolis.
