Emily Anne Schneider, daughter of Debbie and Stuart Schneider of Chesterfield, and Colton Andrew Fenton, son of Mark and Sherry Fenton of Terre Haute, Ind., have announced their engagement.

Emily is the granddaughter of Leo and Ethel Newman of St. Louis, and Harold and Harriet Schneider of St. Louis. Colton is the grandson of Charles and Patricia Myers from Terre Haute, Ind.

The bride-to-be earned a bachelors’s degree in nutritional sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s degree in kinesiology from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. She is currently the Senior Care Network Wellness Coordinator at Lutheran Senior Services. Her fiancé earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He is currently a Certified Public Accountant at Olin Corporation.

Colton turned a planned getaway into a surprise proposal while on the beach in Ocean City, N.J., on May 14, 2016.

An August 2017 wedding is planned.
