Jamie Elise Satz, of Chicago, Ill., daughter of Larry and Carolyn Satz of Town and Country, and Jared Samuel Cohen, son of Jonathan and Rita Cohen of Potomac, Md. have announced their engagement. 

She is the granddaughter of the late Irvin and Becky Alper and Ruth Novack Alper, and the late Paul and Esther Satz, all of St. Louis. 

He is the grandson of the late Jack and Ruth Dershowitz of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the late Abraham and Paula Cohen of Brooklyn. 

The bride-to-be is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and earned her master’s degree in education from National Louis University. She is a first grade teacher with Chicago Public Schools. 

Her fiancé earned his degree from the University of Michigan. He is a software engineer for Nvisia Consulting. 

A November, 2014 wedding is planned.
