Jessica Beth Rubin, daughter of Ken and Jane Tzinberg Rubin of Frontenac, and Benjamin Scott Solarz, son of Alan and Julie Rosenblum Solarz of Ryebrook, New York, have announced their engagement.

Jessica is the granddaughter of Shirley and the late Marvin Tzinberg and Maurine and the late Mahlon Rubin, all of St Louis. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in biomedical engineering from Yale University, an M.D. at Weill Cornell Medical School, as well as a master’s degree in public health from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai. She is a medical resident at University of California in San Francisco.

Her fiancé earned his bachelor of arts degree in economics at Yale University and is Principal at SPO Partners, a San Francisco investment firm.

Jessica and Benjamin met freshman year in New Haven, but started dating several years later in New York City when he was working for Blackstone Group and she was working at McKinsey & Co. The night before Jessica graduated from medical school, Benjamin surprised her with an engagement ring, limousine and champagne, en route to her graduation party, where family and friends were waiting.

A fall 2015 wedding is planned.
