Valerie Ann Parker, daughter of Vicki and Myron Parker of Creve Coeur and Gaddy Theodore Bergmann, son of Henya and Ted Bergmann of Denver, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Margaret and the late Joseph Daugert of Little Falls, N.J., and the late Elizabeth and Arthur Parker of University City.

He is the grandson of the late Zelda Feintuch Gefen and the late Mordechai Gefen, and Ety Bergmann Grinberg and the late Emilian Bergmann.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Ladue Horton Watkins High School and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Denver, with minors in business administration and Judaic studies. She is currently a residential therapist at the Jefferson Center for Mental Health in Colorado.

Her fiance is a graduate of Overland High School and received his bachelor’s degree in environmental population and organism biology from the University of Colorado – Boulder and his master’s degree in zoology from the University of South Florida – Tampa. He is currently a graduate research assistant in the department of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Colorado – Boulder while pursuing his Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology.

An August, 2011 wedding is planned.
