Lauren Hope Marglous, daughter of Shelley Marglous and the late Steve Marglous of Frontenac, and H. Peter Steffen, son of Donna and Peter Steffen of Milwaukee, Wis. have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Celeste and the late Nat Singer and the late Ruth and the late Harold Marglous, all of St. Louis. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Parkway West High School and graduated magna cum laude from Miami of Ohio where she earned a bachelor of science in business with a major in marketing. She is currently a vice-president of News America Marketing, a division of News Corporation.

Her fiancé is a graduate of Homestead High School and earned his bachelor of arts degree from DePauw University in history and also earned a masters of science in accountancy at DePaul University. He is currently director of finance for Optimer Brands, a portfolio company of Sterling Partners.

Lauren and H. P. met at a fundraiser in Chicago through mutual friends. A fall, 2013 wedding is planned at the St. Louis Ritz Carlton.
