Allison Jean Laycob, daughter of Suzan and Leland Laycob of St. Louis, and Jeffrey Scott Matty, son of Kathy and Bob Matty of Rockville, Maryland, were married December 20, 2014 at B’nai Amoona Congregation by Carnie Shalom Rose. The reception took place at Westwood Country Club. 

The bride is the granddaughter of Betty and Paul Mendelson of St. Louis, and the groom is the grandson of Beatrice and Newton Matty and Carol and Milton Sirota. The bride’s matron of honor was her sister-in-law Chrissy Laycob, and her maids of honor included her best friend from college, Rebecca Barclay, and her cousin, Erica Barnell. Bridesmaids were Lesley Matty, Sara Badler, Tanaz Dietz, Janie Foster, Aviva Grossberg, Rachel Rosen and Allison Schiffman. Allison’s junior bridesmaid was her cousin, Brooke Greenfield. The groom’s best men included his best friend from law school, Michael McGrath, and his best friend from growing up, Kipper Kohn. Groomsmen were Michael Laycob, Andrew Barnell, Tom Devine, Pete Dunne, Chris Graziano and Andrew Labovitz. Ring bearer was Allison’s nephew, Ethan Laycob. 

Jeff and Allison met on JDate in May 2012. Allison recalls: “I saw his profile and thought, ‘Sports nut, lawyer, Jewish . . . sounds great!’ ”  After a few email exchanges, Jeff asked her out and the couple went to Brooklyn Bowl for fried chicken and Galactic, one of Jeff’s favorite New Orleans bands, and had a blast. “And as they say, the rest is history,” Allison said. “Our wedding was the most amazing night of our lives and was followed by a two-week honeymoon in Australia and New Zealand.”
