Allison Jean Laycob, daughter of Dr. Leland and Suzan Laycob of St. Louis, and Jeffrey Scott Matty, son of Robert and Kathy Matty of Rockville, Md., have announced their engagement. 

The bride-to-be attended John Burroughs School and Cornell University’s College of Arts and Sciences and Cornell Law School. She is currently a vice-president in the Strategic Alliances Group at Markit in New York City. 

Her fiancé attended Walter Johnson High School, Emory University and Hofstra University School of Law. He is currently a complex litigation attorney at Nelson, Levine de Luca and Hamilton in New York City. 

Grandparents of the bride-to-be are Mr. Paul and Mrs. Betty Mendelson of St. Louis. Her fiance’s grandparents are Newton and Beatrice Matty of Rockville, and Milt and Carol Sirota of Tamarac, Fla. 

A December, 2014 wedding is planned.
