Rachel Kathryn Kopf, daughter of Nancy Feinstein Golden of Creve Coeur and Randall B. Kopf of Chesterfield, and Julian Adam Velard of New York, N.Y., son of Margaret of Decatur, Ala., and Maxime Velard of Paris, France, have announced their engagement. 

She is the granddaughter of the late Marilyn and Raymond Seltzer, the late Marvin M. Feinstein, and the late Marilyn and James Kopf, all of St. Louis. 

He is the grandson of Frances and Julian J. Hirshfeld and Toba and Avram Scharfstein, all of Poland. 

The bride-to-be earned her bachelor of fine arts degree in musical theater from The Boston Conservatory and has been working in New York as an actress. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in speech and language pathology at the City University of New York. Her fiancé earned his bachelor’s degree in music from Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass., and is a musician in New York City. 

An August, 2014 wedding is planned.
