Hurwitz-Levin Wedding
Published May 4, 2017
Blair Jane Hurwitz, daughter of Tracy and Mike Hurwitz of St. Louis, and Richard Elliot Levin, son of Harlan and the late Lynne Levin of St. Louis, were married Nov. 19, 2016 at the Chase Park Plaza. Rabbi Howard Kaplansky officiated.
Blair is the granddaughter of Eileen and the late Alan Hurwitz of St. Louis, and the late Betty and the late Eugene Wolff. Richard is the grandson of Wilma and the late George Levin of St. Louis and the late Willie and the late Muriel Goldstein.
The bride’s sister, Jamie Hurwitz, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s cousin Brittany Farrar, the groom’s cousin Emily Goldstein, and the bride’s friends Nicol Trossman, Allyson Lewis, Stephanie Wilson, Ashley Parisi, Chloe Wolff and Nina Levine.
The groom’s brother, Bryan Levin, served as best man. Groomsmen were Richard’s cousin, Andrew Goldstein, and friends Jonathan Fasano, Steve Varley, James Larkins, Joey Goone, Eric Kniffin, Bryan Reece and Josh Bernstein.
The bride’s cousin Madeline Smart and the groom’s cousin Olivia Beck served as flower girls. Ring bearers were the bride’s cousins Jackson Smart, and Kaleb and Rylan Foltz, and the groom’s cousin Grayson Beck. Ushers were the groom’s friends Corey Schwartz, Mikey Caraffa and Eddie Godinez.
The couple met at Pumpernickles Deli: Blair started working there when she was 15 and Richie’s family purchased the business in 2012. After their first kiss after a holiday party in 2013, it has been true love ever since.
Richie proposed while on vacation with Blair’s family in Montego Bay, Jamaica in December 2015. Richie arranged a private candlelit dinner under a gazebo. When it came time for dessert, the waiter put a plate with a lid in front of the couple. When he removed the lid, there was a huge paperweight diamond ring, with “Will you marry me?” written in chocolate sauce. Blair’s parents and sister were waiting for them to celebrate after dinner.
After a honeymoon in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the couple resides in St. Charles.
