Gila Hoffman, daughter of Dr. Mark and Judy Hoffman of Clayton, and Asaf Ben-Gai, son of Ofer and Rhoda Ben-Gai of Newton, Mass., have announced their engagement.

Gila is the granddaughter of Joyce Saffir of Deerfield, Ill. Asaf is the grandson of Minah Ben-Gai of Kfar Saba, Israel.

The bride-to-be graduated from Clayton High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology, health and society from Cornell University. In May, 2017 she received her M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. This month, she begins her residency training in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Her fiancé graduated from Newton South High School in Boston and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Ithaca College.  He is currently a Demand Planner with Ellery Homestyles in New York.

A winter, 2018 wedding is planned.
