Rachel Erin Finbloom, daughter of Karen and Alan Finbloom of River Vale, N.J. and formerly of St. Louis, and Jonathan Lucas Shapiro, son of Olivia and Michael Shapiro of Kings Park, N.Y., have joyfully announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be graduated from Pascack Valley High School in 2003 and graduated Cum Laude in 2007 from Lehigh University with a bachelor of science degree in business and economics. She received her master’s of science degree in childhood education and special education from Pace University in 2011.  She is currently employed by Ramaz Lower School as a fourth grade teacher. 

Her fiance graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School West in 2001 and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2004 from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy, politics, and economics.  He received his J.D., Cum Laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 2008 and is currently an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York City.

A June, 2012 wedding in New York City is planned.
