Carly Ferdman of Chicago, lll., daughter of Harvey and Marti Ferdman of Chesterfield, and Adam Didier of Chicago, son of Daniel Didier of Chesterfield, and Susan Didier and Michael Tanner of Chesterfield, have announced their engagement. 

She is the granddaughter of the late Herman (the late Jeanette Spector and the late Molly Spector); the late Ben (the late Mae) Ferdman. He is the grandson of Virginia Didier and Elmer Ziegenhagen of Sun City West, Ariz.; Mary Schramer of Palatine, Ill.; and Kenneth and Laura Schramer of Barrington, Ill. 

The bride-to-be graduated from Parkway Central High School and Loyola University-Chicago with degrees in human services and psychology. She currently works as a case manager/social worker with adults with chronic mental illness. 

Her fiancé graduated from Parkway Central High School and Loyola University-Chicago with a degree in molecular biology and a minor in fine arts. He currently works in a genetics lab at the University of Chicago. 

Carly and Adam are getting married in May, 2014 in Chicago.
