Stacy Lauren Sterneck, daughter of Bob and Nancy Jo Sterneck of Chesterfield, and David Brian Kress, son of Marty and Lynda Kress of St. Louis, have announced their engagement.
She is the granddaughter of the late Abe and the late Gloria Goldstein and the late Edward and Ruthie Sterneck. He is the grandson of the late Don and the late Evelyn Singer and the late Erwin and the late Gladys Kress.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She is currently an account executive for L’oreal. Her fianc é is a graduate of Parkway North High School and Columbia College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is currently field supervision director for Edward Jones.
An August 2007 wedding is planned.
Gersteins celebrate 50 years
Harvey and Wilma Gerstein of Creve Coeur celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 10. They were married on that date in 1957 at La Chateau in Frontenac.
Together, they have raised three children, made many friends and have been very active in the St. Louis Jewish community.
They greatly enjoy spending time with their children Larry and Jo Gerstein, Mindee and Jonathan Meltzer and Edie and Niall Jansson and their seven grandchildren Devin and Tyler Gerstein, Ryan, Adam and Abby Meltzer and Amber and Morgan Jansson.
Poleski-Laycob
Christine Emily Poleski, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Martin Poleski of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Michael David Laycob, son of Dr. and Mrs. Leland Laycob of Creve Coeur, have announced their engagement. Michael is the grandson of Paul and Betty Mendelson of Town and Country.
The bride-to-be graduated from La Jolla Country Day School in La Jolla, Calif., in 1999. She received a B.A. degree in sociology from Emory University in 2003 and an M.S. degree in professional counseling from Georgia State University in 2006. She is the middle school counselor at Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School. Her fianc é graduated from John Burroughs School in 1999. He received a B.A. degree in government from Cornell University in 2003 and an M.B.A. degree from Goizueta Business School, Emory University in 2006. He is currently in his third year of law school at Cornell Law School and will graduate this May. Following graduation, Michael will join Bryan Cave LLP as an associate in the St. Louis office.
The couple is planning a September wedding in St. Louis.
