Alexis Farley, daughter of Fern Farley and Alfred Botto of Fort Lee, N.J., and David Jacob Mazur, son of Richard Mazur and Anne Brafa-Mazur of Chesterfield, have announced their engagement. 

She is the granddaughter of the late Jack and Phyllis LaBurt of Goshen, N.Y. He is the grandson of the late Andrew and Dorothy Brafa of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and the late Leon and Yetta Mazur of Cooper City, Fla. and St. Louis. 

The bride-to-be studied marketing at the State University of New York at Orange. She is currently a professional makeup artist and skincare consultant for Shiseido. Her fiancé studied English literature at Emory University and earned his juris doctor degree at the University of Missouri School of Law. He is currently a corporate and intellectual property attorney serving the entertainment and technology industries. 

The couple met while working in New York City. David proposed to Alexis on the rooftop of the Dream Hotel in South Beach. 

An August, 2012 wedding is planned in Pearl River, N.Y.
