Allison Tracy Chod, daughter of Laurie and Edward Chod of St. Louis and Andrew Stuart Davis, son of Ellen and Robert Brin and the late Stuart Davis Jr. of St. Louis, have announced their engagement.
She is the granddaughter of the late Pola and the late Lawrence M. Halperin, and Rosalie and Leonard Chod. He is the grandson of Natalie and Neil Handelman, Eleanor and the late Irving Brin, and Dorris and the late Stuart Davis Sr.
Allison is a 2005 graduate of MICDS. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in creative advertising from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in 2009. She then attended the Chicago Portfolio School, where she focused her studies on graphic design. Allison is currently a graphic designer for FreemanXP.
Her fiancé is a 2004 graduate of John Burroughs School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Duke University in 2008 and his Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University in 2013. He is currently an Engagement Manager for McKinsey & Company.
Although they grew up down the road from each other and attended small rival high schools, the two did not meet until a chance encounter in 2011 in Chicago. After a long-distance relationship and a year together in California, the couple returned to Chicago in the summer of 2013. In the fall, Andrew proposed to Allison and surprised her with a weekend of celebrations that included their parents and siblings flying to Chicago from St. Louis.
A December, 2014 wedding is planned in St. Louis.
