Beverly and Maynard Chervitz will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on March 30, 2018.
They met at the old “Y” on Union Boulevard and attended Soldan High School, becoming sweethearts and best friends. They were married in 1958 and are the children of cherished parents the late Faye and Leon Richman and Beckie and Charles Chervitz.
Beverly and Maynard are blessed with children and grandchildren who “light up their lives”: Debbie and Gary Chervitz, parents of Madeline and Lindsey; Marianne and Steven Chervitz, parents of Jordan and Allison. The Chervitzes are longtime members of B’nai Amoona Congregation, where they enjoy attending Shabbat and holiday services.
Beverly became a bat mitzvah at the age of 51 and continues her Hebrew studies, frequently reading from the Torah. She is a proud member of the B’nai Amoona Minyannaires Program and volunteers with Missouri Baptist Hospital’s Chaplaincy Program, where she visits the Jewish patients. Beverly loves tap dancing with the St. Louis Strutters. In 2006 she was named first runner-up in the Ms. Missouri Senior America Pageant and voted Ms. Congeniality by her peers.
Maynard is an avid watch, pen and car enthusiast and a “pro” at surfing the internet. After a successful career in the shoe business in 1989 he launched his material handling business, United Systems, where he is known to his customers as “Mike” or “Mr. United Systems.”
Beverly and Maynard recently returned from a Caribbean cruise and continued the celebration of their milestone anniversary with family and friends.
