Turai-Pevnick

Melissa Gayle Turai, daughter of Ann and Tom Turai of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Joshua Michael Pevnick, son of Barbie and Jeffrey Pevnick of St. Louis, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Ilona and Sandor Turai of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the late Magda and the late Louis Deutsch of Scottsdale, Ariz.

He is the grandson of Celia and the late Joseph Pevnick and Dorothy and Harold Schneider of St. Louis.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Charparral High School, the University of California at Berkeley, where she earned a B.A. degree in political science, and New York University School of Law. She is currently an associate at the law firm of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. in Los Angeles.

Her fiance is a graduate of John Burroughs School, Pomona College, where he earned a B.A. in politics, philosophy and economics, and the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and is currently a Health Services Research Fellow at the University of California at Los Angeles.

Lang-Roth

Dr. Mara Yvonne Lang, daughter of Carl and Gail Lang of St. Louis, and Dr. Gregory Roth, son of Richard and Leslie Roth of New York, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Lottie Horowitz and the late Dr. Nathan Horowitz of New York and San Antonio, Texas, and the late Rene and the late Joyce Lang of St. Louis.

He is the grandson of the late Aaron and the late Margery Roth of New York and Dr. Merol E. Brickner and the late Goldie Brickner of Gloversville, N.Y., and Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Ladue Horton Watkins High School and Brown University, where she earned a B.A. degree in ecology and evolutionary biology and an M.D. degree. She is currently chief resident in internal medicine at the University of Washington-Seattle. Her fiance is a graduate of Horace Greeley High School and Brown University, where he earned a B.A. degree in religious studies and an M.D. degree. He is currently an acting instructor of internal medicine at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Rifkins celebrate 50 years

In December, Dr. Shale and Molly Rifkin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Longboat Key, Fla., and with their family at the Cafe Bellagio in Creve Coeur. Their children are Robert (Rose) Rifkin, Kathy (Bill) Kottwitz and Wendy (Ben) April. Their grandchildren are Rachel and Abraham Rifkin, Tracy, Katy and Kenny Kottwitz, and Sarah and Laura April.

Lichtman-Danzig

Corey Shana Lichtman, daughter of Renee and Sheldon Lichtman of University Heights, Ohio, and Joel Michael Danzig, son of Myrna and Howard Danzig of Chesterfield, Mo., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Clayre Prizant and the late Sam Prizant and the late Ruth and Ben Lichtman.

He is the grandson of Sue Sachs Schreiber of Creve Coeur and the late Marty Sachs and the late Ben Schreiber and Jenette Danzig of Creve Coeur and the late Isaac Danzig.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and Boston University, where she earned a B.A. degree in economics and international relations and a J.D. degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She is currently an attorney with RMS Investment Corporation. Her fiance is a graduate of Parkway Central and Miami University of Ohio, where he earned a B.A. degree in microbiology and Cleveland State University, where he earned an MBA. He is currently a senior research technologist at the Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner Research Institute.
