Elizabeth (Libby) Burkhardt, daughter of Daniel and Connie Burkhardt of Frontenac and Cindy and Dan Taylor of Chesterfield, and David Rosenfeld, son of Richard and Shelley Rosenfeld of St. Louis, have announced their engagement.

Libby is the granddaughter of the late Eugene and Nadine Lake and the late Alfred and Alice Burkhardt of Jefferson City, Mo.

David is the grandson of the late Max and Jeanette Posin of Evansville, Ind., and the late Jerry and Trudie Rosenfeld of New York, N.Y.

The bride-to-be graduated from Parkway Central High in 2006 and went on to study at the University of Missouri, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. After graduating in 2010, Libby taught eighth grade social studies in St. Louis at Grand Center Arts Academy. She is currently an advancement officer for the College of Engineering at the University of Missouri.

The groom-to-be graduated from Parkway Central High in 2007 and went on to study at the University of Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. After graduating in 2011, David worked for Teach for America in New York City, where he also earned a master’s degree in education.  David is currently an M.D. candidate at the University of Missouri – School of Medicine and is expected to graduate in May of 2017.

A September, 2016 wedding is planned.
