Elisabeth Burack, daughter of Dr. Harry and Susan Burack of Chesterfield, and John Bradshaw, son of Thomas and Patricia Bradshaw, also of Chesterfield, have announced their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Molly and the late Irwin Burack of Short Hills, N.J., and the late Michael and late Annette St. Angelo of Patchogue, N.Y. Her fiancé is the grandson of Marjorie and the late Theodore Ostrowski of Chicago, Ill., and the late Samuel and late Miriam Bradshaw of St. Louis.
Both are 2004 graduates of Parkway Central High School. She is a 2008 graduate of Washington University, where she was a Danforth Scholar and earned her bachelor of fine arts degree with honors in fashion design. She was an active member of Alpha Phi Sorority. After college, she worked for four years in New York City as a fashion designer for Tommy Hilfiger. She currently designs for Kohl’s in Milwaukee.
Her fiancé is a 2008 graduate of Mizzou, where he earned a bachelor of science degree with honors in biology. He was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Since graduation he has been with the Stryker Corporation in Baltimore and then New York City, and is currently a sales rep in Milwaukee for its endoscopy division.
The couple met in sixth grade at Parkway Central Middle School and immediately became smitten with each other. Their love and affection for each other grew through the years, despite attending different colleges and then living in different states as they pursued their careers. But 15 years after they met, they found themselves back in that sixth-grade classroom, where he surprised her with dinner, roses and a proposal.
A September, 2014 wedding in St. Louis is planned.
