Boyce-Goldsticker Engagement

Sarah Gardner Boyce of Washington, D.C., daughter of Richard Nelson Boyce and Kathleen Golding Boyce of Belmont, N.C., and Michael Alan Goldsticker of Washington, D.C., son of Robert Charles Goldsticker and Cathy Brown Goldsticker, of St. Louis, have announced their engagement.
She is the granddaughter of William Moore Boyce, Jr. of Davidson, N.C., Ruth Sellers Boyce of Davidson, John Gardner Golding of Charlotte, N.C. and the late Virginia Wilson Golding of Charlotte. He is the grandson of Ralph Philip Goldsticker, the late Helen Cohn Goldsticker, Frala Brown Osherow, Aaron I. Osherow, and the late Arnold Marvin Brown, all of St. Louis.
The bride-to-be attended Davidson College, earned her bachelor of arts in English, magna cum laude, and her Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from Duke University School of Law. She is currently an attorney with the Department of Justice. In the fall, Sarah will become an associate at Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher law firm. Beginning in the summer of 2015, Sarah will be a law clerk to the Honorable Sandra Day O’Connor, retired Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Her fiancé is a graduate of Clayton High School in St. Louis and earned his bachelor of arts with distinction from Amherst College, cum laude in philosophy, and his Juris Doctor degree from Duke University School of Law, magna cum laude. He is currently an attorney with Williams & Connolly LLP.
The couple met during their first year of law school, where they were classmates. Michael and Sarah hiked Beech Mountain in Acadia National Park in Maine, where, at the summit, Michael proposed while their families were nearby on a trail to surprise and congratulate the engaged couple.
A Spring, 2015 wedding is planned.
