Adler-Mandelbaum Engagement

Sara Elana Adler, daughter of Molly and Stuart Adler of Creve Coeur and Uri Yisrael Mandelbaum, son of Sheila and Henry Mandelbaum of Wellington, Fla. have announced their engagement.
She is the granddaughter of the late Judith and the late Irving Tannenbaum of Northridge, Calif. and Hanna and Howard Adler of Statesville, N.C. He is the grandson of the late Stella and the late George Ostroff of Boca Raton, Fla. and the late Manya and the late Simon Mandelbaum of Elizabeth, N.J.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Parkway North High School and Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics and economics. She earned a master of arts degree in economics at the University of California – Santa Barbara, where she is currently a Ph.D. candidate, studying economics. Her fiancé is a graduate of Suncoast Community High School in Riviera Beach, Fla., and Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Ga., where he earned a bachelor of science degree in computer science. He earned a masterSs degree in aeronautical science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He is currently serving as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force at Vandenberg Air Force Base. They met in September, 2011 in Santa Barbara at a Shabbat dinner for the Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation. The proposal took place with fireworks at Sleeping Beauty’s Castle during a surprise trip to Disneyland in October 2012 and was followed by a private romantic dinner at the Blue Bayou Restaurant.
An August, 2013 wedding is planned.
