John and Judy Brandvein of Creve Coeur are celebrating their 65th anniversary this month.

John, originally from Waterbury, Conn., moved to St. Louis to attend Washington University where he met Judy Kessler on a blind date when she was only 17 years old. Although Judy didn’t want to go out with him for a second date, John was very persuasive…and the rest is history.

They married Nov. 2, 1958, and danced to their song “Embraceable You” at the Gatesworth Hotel in St. Louis. For their honeymoon, they traveled to Chicago.

Throughout their 65 years of marriage, John and Judy have shared many milestones. Their greatest legacy is their family, which includes two children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Their love story is filled with tons of laughter, extensive travels and “no regrets.”

John and Judy are truly an inspirational story of commitment for their entire family. Always seen holding hands. Always filled with unwavering love and support for each other. Always setting an example of a life well-lived…together.
