Winners announced for 2012 National Jewish Book Awards

The Jewish Book Council released the winners of the 2012 National Jewish Book Awards. Some of the highlights include:

Lifetime Achievement Award – Nobel Prize winning neuropsychiatrist Eric R. Kandel, author of “In Search of Memory”

The Everett Family Foundation Jewish Book of the Year Award – “City of Promises: A History of the Jews of New York, With a Visual Essay by Diana L. Linden,” edited by Deborah Dash Moore

National Jewish Book Award in fiction – “The Innocents” by Francesca Segal

Modern Jewish Thought and Experience award for nonfiction – Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, for “Koren Talmud Bavli”
