Singer/songwriter Janis Ian to speak at JCC

The singer and writer of some of the most iconic songs from the 1960s and 70s, Janis Ian brings her memories, her music and her memoir “Society’s Child” to the Jewish Community Center’s Staenberg Family Complex in Creve Coeur, 2 Millstone Campus Drive, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10. Ian, a Grammy Award-winner, will share stories from her career; her life; her work and experiences with fellow artists, including Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Dolly Parton; her legendary songs “Society’s Child” and “At Seventeen,” and the controversy they inspired; plus the ups and downs of more than 40 years in the music business.
