Jewish rock musician Rick Recht will lead a musical Shabbat Service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19 at Congregation Temple Israel. The service is free and open to the public. Recht will share songs from his albums, “Shabbat Alive!” and “Simply Shabbat.”
Recht’s “Shabbat Alive!” family service is an interactive, spiritual, musical Shabbat service involving the participation of Temple Israel’s Senior Rabbi, Amy Feder. The concert is presented by Temple Israel and the Deutsch Early Childhood Center.
Recht performs more than 125 concerts each year across the country and music has earned him a strong, loyal national fan base. He is also the founder and executive director of Jewish Rock Radio, a 24/7 Jewish rock internet radio station (jewishrockradio.com) and is executive director of Songleader Boot Camp, which offers Jewish leadership training programs and conferences for Jewish educators, clergy and songleaders.
“We are so excited to have Rick Recht at Shabbat services on Jan. 19,” Rabbi Feder said in a statement. “He brings an incredible energy and provides an unforgettable experience for everyone who attends – adults and kids alike.”
