A pair of Jewish comedians — one with a local following, the other, a national one — are teaming up for a pair of shows Friday, July 9 at The Gaslight Theater.

Ophira Eisenberg, the host of NPR’s weekly comedy trivia show “Ask Me Another,” will perform at 7 and 9 p.m., at the venue at 358 N Boyle Ave.

The host for the shows is Yale Hollander, a local attorney turned comic who performed on the now-defunct Loop Trolley and during the pandemic, launched a regular virtual Coffee Break comedy showcase, including one in February featuring Eisenberg.

Hollander, who belongs to Congregation Shaare Emeth, told the Jewish Light in April that he was eager to return to in-person comedy.

“There is a special energy to a room that is packed wall-to-wall with folks in the mood to laugh,” he said.

When Eisenberg visited St. Louis in 2015, she spoke with a writer from the Light’s Ohr Chadash Teen Page.

“I put the Jewish stuff in my act here and there, but try to keep it pretty light,” Eisenberg said. “I don’t know if it’s particularly Jewish humor, or just my voice and I happen to be Jewish.”

Tickets are $20. For more information, visit http://www.gaslighttheater.net
