Lenny Kravitz to headline US Open opening ceremony

Some lucky fans won’t have to wait until the next installment of “The Hunger Games” to catch a new performance by Lenny Kravitz. The New York Post reports the rocker is set to headline the opening ceremony of the 2013 US Open.
It won’t be Kravitz who performs the “Star-Spangled Banner,” though. That honor is going to Frenie Acoba, the 11-year-old currently playing Lavender in Broadway’s “Matilda.”
The big night is August 26 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows.
