Award-winning Jewish singer Neshama Carlebach will headline a public concert in St. Louis on Aug. 17, closing out Kol Rinah’s SummerFest 2025. This ticketed Clayton High School concert blends Jewish music, interfaith spirit, and soulful storytelling into a community event open to all. Fans of Jewish music in St. Louis can now experience the daughter of legendary Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach live on stage, backed by her full band.

Concert brings Jewish music and community together
The concert, part of Kol Rinah’s SummerFest 2025, is open to the public with ticket prices ranging from $25 to $75. Free parking is available, and tickets can be purchased now through Eventbrite (insert link here).
Best known as the daughter of the late Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach—one of the most influential figures in Jewish music—Neshama has built her own legacy as a performer, activist and educator. Her latest tour is rooted in connection, healing and hope, themes that align closely with the goals of this year’s SummerFest.
Kol Rinah’s three-day musical weekend runs Aug. 15–17 and includes Shabbat services, Havdalah, family programming and the Sunday concert finale. “Music is central to who we are,” the congregation said in a statement. “It transcends barriers and brings people together.”
The festival is a reflection of Kol Rinah’s mission to connect Jewish heritage with modern identity. “SummerFest 2025 will connect us to our musical roots while celebrating our dynamic, evolving identity,” the congregation noted in its announcement.
The legacy of Shlomo Carlebach lives on
Her father’s legacy looms large. Known as the “singing rabbi,” Shlomo Carlebach composed more than 1,000 melodies, including “Am Yisrael Chai,” a song he wrote in 1965 for the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry. The anthem has taken on renewed urgency since Oct. 7, becoming a musical declaration of resilience for Jewish communities worldwide.
But Shlomo’s impact went beyond melodies. He fused Hasidic spirituality with American folk and counterculture ideals, founding the House of Love and Prayer in 1960s San Francisco and performing for audiences as diverse as yeshiva students, hippies and Holocaust survivors. His music lives on not just in recordings, but in synagogue services, protest rallies, and now, in the voice of his daughter.
Neshama Carlebach brings her voice to St. Louis
Neshama began singing with her father as a teen and has since performed around the world—from Broadway’s Soul Doctor, which she co-created, to interfaith concerts and peace summits. She blends Hebrew folk, pop, jazz and gospel, often performing with a choir led by Pastor Milton Vann. During the pandemic, she appeared in over 350 virtual events. After the Oct. 7 attacks, she helped raise more than $500,000 for relief efforts through a series of benefit concerts.
Sunday’s performance in Clayton will feature original music from her latest album, Believe, and selections from her broader catalogue. She’s also currently studying for the rabbinate, continuing her evolution as a spiritual voice in both Jewish and interfaith spaces.
Tickets for the Aug. 17 concert are on sale now, and organizers emphasize that the event is open to all.
